java worked on mobile phones when they were the size of a brick the first games on mobile were made in java
java was used on servers servlets
java was used in browsers applets
so yeah java works on anything
it's just old not trash

you kind of need to give it a trophy that at some point was very widespread, like adobe/macromedia flash, but flash died, java still lives even has some new languages based on it see kotlin and scala

You're behind the curve it seems. Java applets are unsafe and deprecated. Almost no one uses/makes them nowadays. There are much better, friendlier and more secure ways of doing web with java.

Too much RAM if you don't know how to optimize. Of course it won't ever reach the usages of C or C++, but it uses a fuck ton less than it used back in java 3 for example
