i got a question. why do in all modules etc. the config files have always the .dist what's the purpose ? when you build it they will all get renamed for the running servers, right ?

dist files are overwritten when you compile.
dist stands for `distributed`

if you want to make changes that stay to the conf, you copy the .dist file and remove the .dist so it becomes a .conf file.
Then edit the .conf file.

an easy way to think of this `dist` files is that they're the stock/default configs.
as far as docker is concerned, you can pretty much just not worry about the dist files as long as you make config changes in the env vars rather than config files

after building i find these dist config files in the azerothcore-wotlk/modules/env/dist/etc/ folder... so everytime i rebuild or update the files from git. these files get overwritten (with the standard settings) unless i rename them to without .dist
