So the patch file will go into the base folder where git clone extracts the core files? "put it into your TrinityCore folder"

yeah. download the file from [here](https://github.com/trickerer/Trinity-Bot.../master/AC), go to the root of azerothcore-wotlk, and then `patch -p1 < /path/to/NPCBots.patch`. Make sure to download the AC/SQL folder and apply the sql files if you haven't, as well.
