git is easy to "fake it till you make it", github/other hosts have UIs for a lot of the cruft so thats nice

I like kubernetes quite a bit, and I think it works as a good solution to a lot of difficult problems
I do think however that the application has to work with kubernetes. Stuff that needs a lot of filesystem access or can't exist with replicas is probably going to have a bad time.
I'm a big fan of having CD for it
(flux or helmfile or whatever)
It's a bit more complex than a traditional deployment or docker compose and if you don't have infra as code figured out you're probably going to have a worse time
