Or will the fix eventually be added to the master branch, so that I don't need to mess with figuring out how to deal with PRs and docker on starting up the server?

Installing a local WoW server based on AzerothCore has never been so easy! All you need to have is Docker and a 3.3.5a client.

You want to follow the Classic install guide for maximum compatibility and freedom. Precompiled docker images aren't that variable and the support is very limited.
