sudo systemctl stop mysql
sudo mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables --skip-networking &
mysql -u root
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
ALTER USER 'root'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'newpassword';
kill cat /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid
systemctl start mysql
Those are all commands you have to run
