I updated from mysql 5 to 8 and in the new install i chose the 3308

I think the question on most peoples mind is why didn't you take a backup before doing that? I don't know what happens if you update from 5 to 8, I know there are steps to take to make sure you don't lose data but I don't know specifically what those are.

It may or may not be stored somewhere and you're just using a different path, I don't really know. I hate running servers on Windows so I never cared enough to know that.

I use Heidisql and occasionally export the databases as backup just in case...but I haven't had anything ever wipe it before
