I am just getting started with backup/restore testing. Keeping it pretty simple currently. HeidiSQL > [Backup] Export database as SQL / [Restore] Run SQL file. For the export, should I just set it to replace, assuming I am doing a full restore?

For the export I just set it to drop and create the tables and use inserts. Doesn't make sense to me to replace into new tables or even worse not to export the tables along with the data.

I tried Create Database + Create Table(s) + Data Insert. But on a restore test I got an error 1062 duplicate entries and I noticed tables like realmlist didn't update. My last test with Data Replace gave me a 1:1 match. File sizes are larger and it seems a bit overkill.
Your recommendation is setting Data to Delete + Insert (2nd option)?

Yes, I select drop and create tables and use insert. That is, when I need to do a manual export which is extremely rare.

The idea is to be able to import the database as it was and still be able to update it straight away.
