So like, what is the actual problem, out of curiosity? If you use the built in MySQL/MariaDB macro for cmake it handles both packages just fine, and include/header wise it's 1:1 and binary compatible

It's that issues with MariaDB pop up a lot here from some users, not because MariaDB is bad but because an error in communication is happening between the user and the keyboard.
