I'm not saying people *shouldn't* use MySQL, I'm just saying that it's an issue somewhere in the user layer.

I will recommend MySQL from now on since as you say, there are more issues with MariaDB than there should be and I'm not going to hold their hand through the setup just to promote MariaDB.

In all honesty, MariaDB should be removed from the wiki. A note saying it's supported is fine but people seem to pick that option since it's readily available in the guide.
