The below part of it is placed strangely because it could be read as it doesn't support MySQL versions below 5.7 and also doesn't support MariaDB 10.5 which could mean 10.3, 10.4, 10.6 etc is supported. Very strange.

Yeah, that's the default version as of ubuntu 20.04 lts (which i should probably upgrade but that's a problem for another day). I'm grabbing the official mariadb repo and upgrading to 10.6 since it should check all boxes.
