I don't know if there is a way for you to compare a fresh install clean database with your existing database to see which custom changes you made and if they are compatible with the latest version of the database.

If you could do that you could start making entries in the custom folder to automatically add the custom changes you have. Repeat until the generated database is an up to date database with the changes you want.

You Always want to Backup all commands you Run against your Database. You can Put them into a File and let the autoupdater re-apply them after updating your core.

Also im Case a DB gets broken, you absolutely want a Backup of those commands anyways.

I have some backup but in the form of SQL files, intheory they should be reimportable. But it depends if the databsae strucutre is the same
