If I regret it in the future, is there any way to go back? Or should the world database be deleted so that it regenerates itself?

The easiest way is to reset the world database by dropping all the tables or deleting and recreating the database.

It can regenerate itself, I highly recommend holding onto every custom change you make in their own SQL query file so that such process will be a lot less painful

Just remember to save any custom changes you've made to it before. I don't want to be the recipient of another rage episode because someone didn't realize everything in the database gets deleted with it.
