kk that's what I thought. So if I have say 3 MPQ that are all touching spell.dbc I just need to look at each one and make sure A) they aren't stepping on each others toes, but B) ensure that the last one in the list has all the changes needed by all 3 since there are no merging?

if u have 3 patches and each of them has different subset of spells then i would say u shouldnt have 3 patches

Yeah I wouldnt have like 3 patches to touch a dbc 3 times. My issue is like "HD Patches" + "my work" + "friends work" + blah blah and so yeah I just need to get things cleane dup

its also not that simple to merge multiple dbcs u would mostly have to go manually through it

yeah kind of expected that. And then if something is using a specific ID then that's even more trouble I know it's a show I'm asking about, just wanted to make sure I understood the order of operations for things. Thanks!

also "my work" and "friends work" shouldnt be a thing....or it could be if u have strict rules but more sensible would be to have single source of truth

yeah was just using that as an example of "different stuff". Like right now I'm looking at the HD Patches that Stygian put out a while back, see multiple MPQ, trying to decide what I want to use, if I use some of it, does that mean I need to merge some dbc (sounds like yes), that kinda deal. Shouldn't be too big of a lift. My changes are minimal. I just wanted to make sure I understood the MPQ reading process properly
