mariadb is mysql, it's just that if mariadb is changing the binary to be called mariadb instead of mysql that's really up to you to fix. The officially supported type is mysql, and I know this for sure.

yes yes I agree, but I have this message which appears and I do not use mysql I only have mariadb installed on my server! I don't see what I could replace or correct if it doesn't come from the server's internal commands to send the data to the database

The OS isn't magically going to know if it should use mariadb or mysql unless the server code specifically checks which one is installed. I don't use the auto updater so I couldn't tell you what to change because frankly I don't care since I'll never use it
