If you have a copy of the script for those changes, it's alright because you can just run it again.

You could also place your script in the custom folder actually and the auto-updater will do it for you. You don't have to though, you can always run it yourself if you prefer.

I don't remember if the auto-updater stores hash for that. You're right though, it has to be manual or you risk it being too low yeah.
