So when I'm hearing it's impossible to get a certain expansion done, You mean to what it was like when it was released originally... Not that I can't just go on retail right now and go do the quest lines and put that data into the database

That's not true, some quests have been removed over time, Cataclysm especially removed *a lot* of content that existed in WotLK
