Ah, i see. My apologies as i'm not too familiar with the update process - what steps would i need to take then to implement the update on my server once it's ready?

Just update your master branch to latest master and restart the server, it then applies the new DB updates

Update on this - downloading a new 3.3.5a client did not solve this issue. Setting Video -> Effects -> Shadow Quality to above medium did solve the issue. No idea what's going on under the hood, but all the 'bad spots' are fine now
