Good morning. I have a question, does anyone know approximately how much memory is needed for a server based on the number of people? The same as the processor. Because previously, there was a document in the wiki, but it was moved or deleted. So I don't know if those values are still true.
> We recommend at least 16 GB, since the server will cache the world maps as players explore them, which eventually means a use of at least 11 GB of RAM. It means that even if you have few players connected, at the moment when they explore any map, it will never be unloaded from RAM until restart. So after quite some time, all maps will be loaded, occupying more RAM. It is a structural choice that guarantees a "high performance" in case of intensive use.

I recall a discussion about the numbers being inaccurate and very dependant on various factors not related to player numbers. I think that's the reason it was removed.

based on my experience, 4 gb is an absolute minimum. I'm currently running 8 gigs for ~10 people online and it's chugging along comfortably.

It could have been left, the document could have been edited, and if someone had more real numbers, they could have provided them, and in that way, we could have an approximation. There are communities currently using the emulator. They could more or less mention, based on the resources they have, the consumption they notice in their servers as well. Nothing has to be perfect.

For one of our server owners with 2500 players in the "production" worldserver consumes around 16 GB, but this is not the final number.

The issue I believe is that there are too many variables - primarily with CPU. What modules you are running being one of the bigger ones. But also what your players are doing - being differences between spread out doing world PvE/questing, a raid, several raid groups, larger PVP or some combination on all of that.
So it isn't just a question of editing it with "real" numbers it is that there is too much variable between what those real numbers will represent.
