I believe that's due to this configuration setting: https://github.com/azerothcore/azerothco...dist#L1005. Having such tick rate indeed consumes more resources than an average user might expect. For me, it doesn't make sense to set such a low value there. I would suggest setting it to 50ms by default, and those who find it important can adjust it to 10ms or something.
