You also don't have to recompile. Just a regular build is good enough. It's a waste of time doing a full recompile. You should only do that if you're having issues (last resort).

Whenever you update the core or modules or even if you add/remove modules, just build is fine.

You just have to remember to run cmake every time. If files are added/removed cmake is required but it's usually good practice to always run it before you compile.

Oh and if it complains about precompiled headers being out-of-date (or PCH for short) in the future when you update the core, that **does** require rebuild (or clean -> build)

You would want to update from time to time, if nothing else so you have access to the latest fixes.

Between updates though, no. It won't happen, because it doesn't happen when you start the server but when you try to compile the core after updating the source code.
