It's a service that returns your own IP. I can't find the mention in a search here. Discord search on mobile is terrible.

I can't find it either.
I've used my domain in client and public IP in the realmlist table though, no joy.

It should. The authserver resolves the DNS and sends the result to the client so it can reach the worldserver.
