Because I've been able to log into the worldserver using my external IP with no problems, even with localAddress as 127.0.0.1

Sorry if I'm not being clear or missing something obvious, I'm very new to most of this.

I'm only unable to log into the Auth server when I try to reach it by my domain name.

Public and local IP have both worked fine when set up properly.

That's why I'm asking specifically about SRV records, as setting up DNS records for AzerothCore are specifically left out of the networking section of the guide.

I haven't tried to use any external service. But I can confirm that domain names work in the address field. The domain needs to resolve to the public IP of the worldserver and the port needs to be forwarded properly.

See the `networking` section of the wiki.
99.9% of the cases with that error description turn out to be wrong realmlist, missing/wrong port forwarding, or a firewall issue.

One could even use whoami in the address field. Because the resolution happens on the auth server's end.

I've confirmed port-forwarding is correct via testing with public IP.
I've updated the realmlist to the correct domain name on both client and server, and have resolved previous firewall issues.
