Obviously you would want to include ALL fields except for the "entry" (ID) value.

That would make an exact copy. Then you could modify your copies from there. You might want to also 'tweak' the name to make it more obvious it is the copy. so instead of jsut "select name" use "select 'MyDupe_'&name"

I would say it is easier to modify the description upon initial "select" then afterwards. Otherwise differentiating between the original and new is more complicated as the only difference is the Entry ID value.
