It still isn't endless today because it's not meant to be. It's not like a void where you just throw endless items in nor should it be.

while i personally dont like hardcoding everything in that way they didnt need it to do anything more so why bother

I haven't yet run into issues with storage in the guild bank but if I ever happen to run into that issue I would just throw it in my personal bank and focus on keeping items in the guild bank that all my characters could possibly need.

depends also on what concept of server u are working if its something loot-centric u may need lot of space to store items

Yes but what's the purpose with storing all that loot to begin with? If it's to sell it on the AH then start posting it. If it's to use it, then use it.
