Dummy question for server-side spells, if I add my own custom spells, can I do the server-side logic without affecting the core files? Like, would I still be able to pull updates without issues?

How would you modify the core without modifying the core? You can always pull changes but may have to fix conflicts if those crop up.

also even if u edit core chance that u will get conflicts when updating is so small its not rly worth consideration....being able to update starts to be issue only with extensive core changes

Didnt know if there was like a custom place to put the logic that is untouched by the source control (even if the chance of a conflict is next to nonexistant), which if they can exist in a module answers my question

some1 could argue that u could still add new hook and make kind of obscure hybrid to not edit core that much but i think that is nonsense

It is nonsense unless you PR it or it's still just your personal core edits

Im just looking at spell edits/additions and the edits are purely for me. and i really wouldnt mind resolving merge conflicts, would just prefer to avoid them if possible
