It's like something is grinding it to a halt somewhere but again you can reach the server, not that that means it's not an issue between you and the server.

You have no issues with anything else if you try to run it on one of those machines and connect to it? Obviously SSH works (I assume) but what about anything else?

MySQL is allowing remoting. Nothing else on it really

If you're not having issues with mysql I don't see how it could be a firewall issue, especially (again I repeat myself, soz about that) since you *can* connect to it even if it doesn't progress
