As long as you're using the correct fork and the correct branch of that fork I would say it should work. Granted I'm only testing using the repos by liyunfan1223 (basically the same thing but slightly ahead between merges) and it compiles fine.

I don't know. I just use github desktop to manage my own code and stuff I've forked myself. I never tried to grab someone elses repo/fork using it.
