For example, if I do ```.tele add NewStart``` and then create a portal can I point it to that?

Mhmm. The problem I have is if I go to a location and do .gps and then copy Z X and Y, when I set the starting area in the DB the new characters spawn inside the world

The way I add things atm is copying existing and tweaking values. This sound a little more complicated but I'll look into this now Nyeriah, thank you both

You just have to script to teleport on click to where you want, you can also use spells( but that would require scripting them
