It doesn't, but I hope you have saved all your changes as SQL queries. Because otherwise they will be gone after the next squash update.

what will a squash update affect? I'm reading on the wiki "Database Squash" page and it doesn't mention "losing" any data in existing DBs, or re-importing any changes. I'm backing up my DBs already, but just wondering about stuff like placed npcs (with .npc add), if they would need re-inserting after a squash

The proper way to reapply your changes, is to have them as SQL files and store them in the `custom` folder. That way the core will apply them full auto-mode.
