Reading that Module info, it says to rerun Cmake and launch a clean build of Azerothcore. Will this wipe alternations I have currently made? For example placed NPCs?

as far as I'm aware, recompiling with a module shouldn't affect any changes to the DB (in my case it hasn't touched the DB, and I've recompiled maybe a dozen times so far...). Not sure how others generally do it, but could be worth backing up all acore DBs before doing it

I have placed like 100 NPCs and it took ages lol so I don't want to have to do that again

simple answer - make a copy of the DB's. (like literally copy the physical files to another folder)

Long term - save your NPC SQL queries so you can re-execute.

Longer answer - you may want to automate a regular backup of the DB's. I am not terribly familiar with MySQL but I setup a simple "mysqldump" script that runs. (in MS SQL I would also setup maintenance plans and such but I was struggling to find *similar* things in MySql).
