I don't know exactly how the server reads the config, but obviously characters like # and ; for example have to be surround with some kind of marker, so the reader knows to treat them like a string value

Try changing it to a simple one without any special characters, just to check if it works then. I'm sure someone who's working with the project a bit longer will come along and tell you how to use special characters inside the config.
