Going forward you will want to make a "backup" before you make a major change. So before dumping the Characters database make a copy of it. If there is an issue, worst case you jsut restore that version and are back to "where you were" before the change.

Make a copy of the DB and/or BUILD folder. If there is an issue, you can just reload the prior DB/Build.
