The script will start and stop the server upon request (with auto restart) so unless you want to manually start them, for whatever reason, it's really irrelevant isn't it?

apoligies maybe the terminology wasn't correct, i just meant where do you run the script from (where is it stored) as i'll be putting it in a location not cloning it

You mean where to put *my* script? That doesn't matter at all, it will work wherever you put it as long as it's allowed access to the location where it clones the AC source etc

You should probably write your own though, it's good practice because you can adjust it to your own setup and configuration. Use Revision's as a guide when you're working on your own. Can make it simpler to start if it's too intimidating. - try and read it and get the gist and then make your own version.

Thanks, agreed. I'm just getting a hang of how the scripts work and reading them, I wasn't sure if it had to be in a specific spot to then work out where the AC files are etc.

That's always the best plan. Mine has had a ton of iterations too after me realizing more and more what I want. That's why the script is tuned towards easily manage multiple realms with basically a single command and be able to copy the script over, run it and without input have a realm up-and-running after however long it takes to compile.

The script will clone AzerothCore to a folder called 'source' in the same folder as the script by default. I need separate folders for each realm because they're not all identical - the same for client data files, which the script fully manages, because they have slightly different DBC edits so can't use the same ones.

Sounds like it DOES matter where it is then =P

Hell, many of the options you can completely ignore since they're tied to my fork of AC - mainly the options that mention any form of progression

My older version you defined the place of the source but I found that to be pointless and decided just to clone it where it sits. Obviously if you move it, it will try to install the server again, but that's true for almost any script.
