OK, I'll bite.
So <@218402627636035585>: about a year ago I was running FreeBSD on my main desktop. I was only doing development work. It's an amazing OS, but eventually it wasn't able to support some basic stuff I needed to do basic things: Discord, Docker, etc.
So I switched to Ubuntu 22.04. Everything was good until I updated my (nVidia) graphics driver... and my sound stopped working. I rebooted and my sound came back... and my monitor was in 800x300 at 49" wide.
I also have a lot of Elgato gear, like Streamdecks, Keylights, and their 4K PCIe capture card. These only work on Windows. So I moved back to Windows 11 and now _everything_ is supported. I can do anything anyone else can do, including running Linux in the WSL or in a VM.

There is no blame to be assigned.

That's my gripe as well, I love Linux as an idea, but it's just not good enough on the software and peripheral side of things

Corsair don't owe you or the Linux user base anything.

True. The moment you want to use a mainstream piece of hardware, you're back to Windows.
