By the way, I tried something and it worked. I created a test shield and instead of adding the block value in the "Block" column I added a block stat (type 15) and the client reads it accordingly. Should I still open a GitHub issue?

i would be curious to see screenshot of that item bcs block value is different stat to block rating if that items is supposed to have value then i assume that is simply what it is
