I'm not trying to put you on the spot here, but there's been a ton of rewrites in the past that weren't necessarily a good step or the right step

I think that should probably be done before going head first into porting the system, I have my doubts that there are issues that are simply impossible to fix with the current system

I don't see why that would be impossible to do with just tweaking the current system, you're pretty much just introducing more flexibility with proc timing from reading that, and it should be easy enough to just fall back to the original, old way of handling procs to prevent regression
