You could just use the AC repo and apply the npcbots patch to it since that's supplied by trickerer

any tips for working with more complex and nested gossips ? since the only identifier is single number it gets rly messy very quickly like

Autobalance default settings are decent, depending on your skill level. I personally found the solo default settings easier than world mobs, which I did not like.
For wiw, I recommend you increase the curve floor up so mobs last longer than world mobs. I would also add npc-bots so then you can ramp up the autobalance even more. But I like things to be barely manageable to be fun, so to each their own.
