thanks for replying. does it make sense to modify the database by sourcing the sql file in the right database? I did that (See above) not sure if it matters or not.

PS: I do this from linux, so I run the ./acore compile script and clean/make/install with it.

Perfect, thank you! I removed the way I was doing it (copying azerothcore-wotlk/modules/mod-ah-bot$ cat conf/mod_ahbot.conf.dist into azerothcore-wotlk/env/dist/etc). I remember reading somewhere that the modules directory is the way to do it now, and as such I'm recompiling now to see if it picks it up (after modifying the .conf.dist file in that module directory). If I can get this working, I can try to write a doc so others know how to do it that are noobs, like me THX for reading/responding, much appreciated.
