I don't know. When you start the server you'll see if it imports anything or not.

No, if the folder structure for the module is what the auto updater requests then it'll load from where they are. You could copy them to the core if they aren't being imported by the server and if you don't want to import them yourself. Again, it all depends on if it works or not.
