For the record, I tried it on Linux and it had zero issues.

One of my previous clients was a dentristry startup and the work I was doing for them was writing ansible playbooks to deploy windows software and there was also powershell scripts I had to write alongside this and it was all targeting win server 2012 (only because I put my foot down lol) and holy shit it was so annoying

docker on windows/mac is just bad imo. They both need a linux VM and there's just so many extra gotchas with it

If you don't have access to a system running Linux I guess a VM running Linux with Docker on it makes the most sense.

If you absolutely want, or need, to use Docker that is.

Most of our machine park is windows clients, and it's a very legacy infrastructure. I just now managed to get docker, ansible and git shoehorned in with a different project, so working on setting up winrm

I'm speaking about the average user running AC by the way, not the more advanced users who know what the alternatives are and how they work.

Definitely, I don't see docker being a good alternative (yet) for most end users

If the setup procedure was simplified, and more of a one click and done type thing, it would definitely be better than a) repacks or b) self compiled with a ton of setup questions
