One of my previous clients was a dentristry startup and the work I was doing for them was writing ansible playbooks to deploy windows software and there was also powershell scripts I had to write alongside this and it was all targeting win server 2012 (only because I put my foot down lol) and holy shit it was so annoying

docker on windows/mac is just bad imo. They both need a linux VM and there's just so many extra gotchas with it

If you don't have access to a system running Linux I guess a VM running Linux with Docker on it makes the most sense.

Most of our machine park is windows clients, and it's a very legacy infrastructure. I just now managed to get docker, ansible and git shoehorned in with a different project, so working on setting up winrm

If the setup procedure was simplified, and more of a one click and done type thing, it would definitely be better than a) repacks or b) self compiled with a ton of setup questions
