More than 2 can be annoying if you have to keep stopping and starting them but it's really personal preference. Sometimes I barely use any VMs or containers for a while, then all of a sudden I spin up 10+ for various tasks and with that in mind I might as well keep using it.

If you never use more than say 2 (or 3), there's really no point *right now* to use a hypervisor

well and thats the thing. i use the vm for ac, and the other 2 vm's i have are copys of the ac evniroemnt to test modules on, so i dont irreversable break everything
