Is there an easy way for me and a mate to share or export/import databases? We are not always online at the same time so he can't play when my pc isnt on.

It depends on what he hopes to achieve. If only character then Pauz has given the best solution for that but if they want to transfer everything then we're talking exporting the entire database and sharing it.
