now might be a good time to do a database migration -- export your mysql db and import it into a new MySQL instance on Ubuntu

(this is a also a good way to determine that you can confidently restore from backups in case you need to do DR)

you could provision one but keep your windows server live. do a data copy-down and validate your migration workflow
