This very well may be a stupid question, but is there any risk when getting updates from github, recompiling, generating, and running Build again, that it will overwrite my database? Regarding certain edits to loot data and character data, etc. For the time being I am exporting my databases as sql in a backup folder just in case every now and then (I don't get to play too often), but I'm just looking to get a better idea of what to look out for. Because my databases are stored in the Build folder by default, and I read that some people move them elsewhere?

Are there any particular steps you take to try to preserve your edits? Like I have certain adjustments to a few loot tables here and there. I would have to imagine the player character data and stuff like worldserver.conf edits should be pretty safe though right? Especially the worldserver.conf since if anything only the .dist file should be replaced?

i dont know what is best solution as i see it u can either manually filter sql updates or somehow make that ur changes will be reapplied after each update to override any updates which changed ur changes

assuming u got 1:1 data with server and client if not then it gets a bit more complicated
