I'm making my personal server to play with my family - one of my kids asked if he could be a dwarf on the horde side - it seems the faction change only lets you choose a race on the opposing side, not actually join the other side. Is there a way to have a specific character be on the other side?

What I am seeing is that it requires dbc file editing?

it would be lot of work to make that work since its most likely hardcoded in client

Darn, hmm. How difficult would it be to make a custom item (unless there already is one) that lets you cast "illusion dwarf" or whatso

Another option would be to enable cross-faction play through the worldserver config. This would allow you to group together, be in the same guild, and so on, although there is a lot of content restricted to one faction or the other. If you are wanting mostly to play dungeon content together this would be a good simple option.
