unless u are getting attacked i dont see how few malformed packets could cause that

I highly doubt that 3 packets make your server unable to connect

if you're getting dos's , you probably want an external way to prevent that IP from connecting

there are services that provide ddos protection or u can have additional server and deal with it that way or u can even combine both
