Hey guys I'm going to make my old pc into a server computer for my friends. It's windows is sluggish these days but it seems to otherwise run fine. What do you think about the specs for running the server? Intel Core i7-4700MQ @ 2.40 GHz Installed RAM 12gb DDR3. How many people do you think I can have on the server with this computer? Also would it run better if I installed linux on it?

The computer will be by itself running 24/7 (hopefully will see if it crashes and burns because of this )

Servers are pretty much always better off running Linux, but if you aren't experienced with it and don't have time to learn, it can be a pain

you probably won't have too bad of a time installing linux and setting up azerothcore. You can install VSCode or sublime or most other text editors that you'd use in windows so its relatively familiar
