My friend is recommending I learn python, but he's not sure if it would have do much for modding. Any thoughts on that? specifically the modding application

Python is a good first language to learn programming fundamentals, but it will not be much help in AzerothCore modding.
If you are starting without much programming knowledge, a good first step might be to make database changes - these can be done without any programming knowledge, and what you learn of the databases will help you later when you begin to develop code.

Love the feedback, thanks. I will look into python (udemy.com) and mess with the database. I had some people help me add a few query's and I thought that was awesome and fun. After that I will revisit the skeleton module. I was struggling with the first line (Use the script create_module.sh located in modules/) so I think it will be a good idea to get some programming knowledge in first. I appreciate your feedback rymer, I really like the idea of learning the fundamentals. I will not forget lua though and will look into it. I just can't handle 3 new things at once haha
